The founder of Juvia's Place, a range of colourful make-up eye shadow pallettes and other cosmetic's, took to instagram to correct the on-going horror of some racial issues. A big star in make-up, Jeffrey Star, recently picked up the latest pallette 'Nubian 3 Coral' and did a review on it.
Since the review, the brand has received black-lash as some haters saw what Jeffrey Star had to say -which he was thanked for by Juvia's Place- and started some commotion for the brand with comments made about the ethnicity that the brand maintains itself on.
The founder made a large effort to write about the back-lash and stated that she did not appreciate the comments that were made about race when this pallette was reviewed. Viewers weren't too happy at the thought of Jeffrey Star supporting a black-owned brand and the boss herself, Chichi Eburu, stepped in to defend her brand and its roots by saying that the brand was made as a celebration of the black diaspora.
She made sure people understood that she supported all races with the launch of their new foundation being mentioned as well to support the black Juvia's Place community by adding
"Also, for the record, our foundation launch was our very first full scale campaign; and for our first full campaign, we wanted to make sure we included the very people for whom Juvia’s Place was created. We have not and would not ever ignore our black influencers."
Lets hope this gets all sorted! Check out the Pallette that started it all and the foundation below;
